Technology

3C MAXXGRIP

Maxxis' 3C MaxxGrip Compound uses the stickiest, slowest-rebounding compound we offer in a mountain bike tire. This high-traction compound is the same used by our top Downhill World Cup and Enduro World Series athletes and is now available in a variety of carcass configurations to cover all riders.

3C MAXXTERRA

Maxxis' 3C MaxxTerra is a mid-range, triple compound setup used throughout our line of mountain tires. The 3C MaxxTerra compound provides more traction than 3C MaxxSpeed, while providing better tread wear and less rolling resistance than MaxxGrip, making it ideal for trail riding in all conditions.

EXO+

The EXO+ is Maxxis' medium puncture protection option, suitable for trail riding and lightweight e-bikes. We start with a durable 60 TPI casing, add our legendary EXO anti-puncture layer in the sidewalls and top it all off with a small butyl insert around the bead. The tough casing and EXO material prevent damage from rocks and roots, while the butyl insert protects the tire from pinch flats and helps prevent rim damage.

WIDE TRAIL

Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tire tread layout and profile on today's modern, wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for older, narrower rims and can create a tire profile that is too square, which does not provide optimal performance. WT tires are optimized for a 35mm inner rim width, but are proven to work over a range of 30-35mm inner rim width, depending on rider preference.
