The Continental Argotal DH is a downhill-specific tire engineered to deliver maximum grip and control on loose, wet, or muddy terrain. Its open tread pattern offers excellent mud clearance and cornering traction in unpredictable trail conditions.

Built with Continental’s SuperSoft rubber compound and a reinforced DH casing, this tire is made for aggressive riding, bike park laps, and downhill racing. It’s also tubeless-ready for improved control at lower pressures.

✔ SuperSoft compound – unmatched grip on wet and soft trails
✔ DH casing – enhanced sidewall protection and stability
✔ Aggressive tread – optimized for loose and muddy ground
✔ Tubeless Ready – smoother ride, fewer flats
✔ Size: 29 x 2.40

Whether you’re smashing runs at Mont-Sainte-Anne, Bromont, or your favourite bike park, the Argotal DH is built for full-send days.

INFORMATION

- **SuperSoft:** our softest and grippiest compound in the MTB Gravity range. Especially for downhill and enduro use cases where the focus is on downhill. Tires equipped with this compound are intended for riders who focus 100% on grip, traction and control. Recommended for use cases with a large amount of descent.
- **Soft:** the balance between grip and rolling resistance for gravity-focused use cases. High level of grip with reasonable rolling resistance. Option to optimize the rolling properties of your rear wheel on the DH bike or to have the optimal combo for Enduro or Trail.
- **Casing DH:** most durable and reinforced casing construction for the most demanding descents

TECHNOLOGIES

The rolling properties of a tire's rubber compound are primarily determined by three interrelated factors: friction [grip], rolling resistance and mileage [durability]. The dilemma: if you improve one of these factors, it can have a negative effect on at least one of the others. A tire with maximum grip wears faster and rolls slower. If you then make a tire roll faster and longer, the grip, in turn, is reduced.

With our Black Chili compound, a tread compound that is still based on the latest knowledge in polymers and raw material research, we have provided the bicycle industry with a sustainable solution. Depending on a tire's application, we tailor the compound formulation to the specific discipline - for road or mountain biking, time trial or downhill.

How does it work? For the Black Chili, we refine special synthetic rubbers with proven natural rubber to achieve high performance tread blends. To these mixtures, we then add soot particles, whose shape and surface properties are optimized.
