Construction

The X12 Waxed features Double X-Bridge technology, an exclusive KMC design that enhances shifting precision and speed. The inner and outer plates benefit from optimized chamfering to ensure smooth engagement with chainrings and cassettes. Depending on the version chosen, the chain may also receive a Ti-N Titanium Nitride treatment or a nickel coating to improve corrosion resistance and durability.

Performance

Thanks to the GO WAX treatment, the chain offers superior efficiency compared to traditional oil-based lubricants. The wax reduces the accumulation of dirt and abrasive contaminants, keeping the drivetrain cleaner while extending the lifespan of the chain, cassette, and chainrings. KMC also states that its durability can be up to twice that achieved with conventional lubrication.

Compatibility

The KMC X12 Waxed is compatible with most Shimano and Campagnolo 12-speed drivetrains. It is also suitable for several modern 12-speed systems. Depending on the version, however, it is not compatible with SRAM Flattop and SRAM Eagle Transmission T-Type drivetrains.
