The Continental Xynotal DH is a downhill-specific tire designed for dry, hardpack terrain where speed, precision, and predictable handling are key. With a low-profile, directional tread, it delivers fast rolling performance while maintaining consistent grip in corners.

This tire is available in two rubber compounds, giving you the flexibility to choose based on your riding style:

🔹 Soft Compound – ideal for aggressive trail or park riders looking for balanced grip, rolling resistance, and durability
🔹 SuperSoft Compound – maximizes grip for full DH racing or technical lines where traction is everything

Built on a reinforced DH casing for maximum stability and impact protection, and tubeless ready to run lower pressures for better control and fewer flats.

✔ Designed for dry, hard, and compact terrain
✔ Available in Soft and SuperSoft rubber compounds
✔ DH Casing – for high-speed stability and protection
✔ Tubeless Ready – more grip, fewer flats
✔ Size: 29 x 2.40 – folding bead

A top choice for downhill tracks at Mont-Sainte-Anne, Bromont, or any high-speed, hardpack bike park.

INFORMATION

- SuperSoft: Our softest and grippiest compound in the MTB Gravity range. Especially for downhill and enduro use cases where the emphasis is on descending. Tires equipped with this compound are intended for riders who focus 100% on grip, traction, and control. Recommended for use cases with a high proportion of downhill riding.

- Soft: The balance between grip and rolling resistance for gravity-oriented use cases. High level of grip with reasonable rolling resistance. Option to optimize the rolling properties of your rear wheel on the DH bike or have the optimal combo for Enduro or Trail. Casing DH: The most durable and reinforced casing construction for the most demanding downhills

TECHNOLOGIES

The rolling properties of a tire's rubber compound are primarily determined by three interdependent factors: friction (grip), rolling resistance, and mileage (longevity). The dilemma: Improving one of these factors can negatively affect at least one of the others. A tire with maximum grip wears faster and rolls slower. If you then make a tire roll faster and longer, grip, in turn, is reduced.

With our Black Chili compound, a tread compound that is always based on the latest knowledge in polymers and raw material research, we have provided the bicycle industry with a sustainable solution. Depending on a tire's application, we adapt the compound formulation to the specific discipline - for road or mountain biking, time trial or downhill. How does it work? For Black Chili, we refine special synthetic rubbers with proven natural rubber to produce high-performance tread compounds. We then add soot particles to these compounds, which are optimized for their shape and surface properties.
