The bike that can ride anything!
Who is Revel? It's a Colorado-based company founded by outdoor enthusiasts. Their goal is to develop the best bike for fun, no matter what type of riding you enjoy. They also created their carbon rims. They're made from a reinforced composite polymer, which results in a wheel that's more durable, lighter, and with a better damping feel. Of course, they come with a lifetime warranty, and the old wheel will be recycled to make a new one!
Now let's talk about the Rascal , it's a trail bike with 140mm of travel at the front and 130mm at the rear. Like all Revel bikes, it benefits from Canfield Balance Formula technology. In concrete terms, this allows us to maximize our pedaling regardless of the type of terrain. In terms of anti-squat, they have managed to maintain an exceptional level of pedaling even in rough conditions, since even at the maximum of its travel, the percentage of anti-squat remains close to 100%. This allows us to practically erase the effect of the shock compression and maintain good pedaling efficiency.
The Rascal is known for being a bike that can go anywhere , from very technical trails with slow passages , to flowy tracks where you ride at high speed, you are well served with it! Don't let its short travel fool you , it has a very aggressive position when descending.

First impression :
Already after a few minutes on the Revel Rascal, I felt comfortable. It is as pleasant uphill as downhill and I am far from being a fan of pedaling, often I find it a chore. However, for the first time , a bike made me trip on this essential stage to get to the summit. The Rascal is light and has a very efficient pedal stroke, you almost feel like you are climbing alone . Once at the top , that's where the real fun begins . For my first descent , I decided to do the A dorila at Mont Sainte-Anne , an intermediate track with a few jumps and turns. When I took my first jump , I said to myself wow this bike flies by itself and after my first turn , I already have confidence, because you can see that the bike is stable and capable of taking it. For my second descent , I decide to increase the level a little, so I head into the Bella Coola , a slightly more technical track. Once again , the Rascal surprises me, you feel like you're floating over the roots, it's so smooth and you feel very stable even at low speed , you don't feel like you're going to go over the bar because you stay stuck between two roots.
After 2 months of riding the Rascal 2-3 times a week, my verdict on the bike hasn't changed and it has continued to impress me on every ride. I took it to the Godzilla Valley in the North Arm , and to be honest at first I was worried that I might be missing a bit of travel, as I've always been a fan of long travel bikes. To give you an idea before testing the Rascal, I was mainly riding a Norco Range C2 (which is 170/170mm of travel). However, the Revel proved me wrong, I actually had more fun with the Rascal than with my Range for this type of trail. The landing was always smooth , despite its small 140/130mm of travel.
In short, if your ultimate goal when riding a bike is to do mostly pedaling sessions and you want to do long distances , but with some epic descents , the Revel Rascal is the bike for that. Sometimes you want to ride a chair? Perfect, the Rascal also likes to do downhill days sometimes.
